Letting Go

“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond the winning.”- Lao Tzu

Letting go is a skill that is practiced, and applies to a broad range of our life, including both our attachment to things we selfishly cling to as well as things we so desperately want to avoid. We can start with something simple. Let go of your expectations that today needs to be perfect. In fact, there is a huge emotional release that happens just by saying out loud, “Nothing about today needs to be perfect!”. Try it! Feel better? I’ve started using this phrase the moment I start to feel the anxiety creep in when things don’t seem to be working out the way I want them too. Every single time, I realize that I’m putting far too much pressure on myself and others and it squeezes out the potential for happiness. When we let perfection go, we let in love, compassion, and happiness in its place.
