This is Micah.
The incredible saving grace who helped me take my classes online last year. I think I should name my next child after him. I OWE HIM BIG TIME.
Micah is training for his first marathon and we got together to document this milestone.
I am so inspired by anyone who would put themselves through anything close to running a marathon. (I’d rather ride my bike 100 miles before running just one.)
Needless to say, I decided that I too would like to train for a marathon.
Only…
Its not the kind of marathon you might think.
My Marathon training? I want to get up every morning at 5:00 a.m.
Whoopi doo? Well, it may sound super simple easy–so not worthy of marathon training–But Wait!
In my little world it’s practically as daunting.
As I write this lovely post I have a hollering jumping kid who is not taking a nap. I have discovered that the only time I have to accomplish anything is in the morning.
BEFORE ANYONE ELSE IS AWAKE.
I do pretty good at getting up at 6:30 a.m. every day, but my heavens! Where does the time go? That extra hour and a half could be magical!
But I sort of need to train for it. Here’s to declaring a mid year resolution!
Now I better go rescue my little ornery jumper.
Training Day #1 starts tomorrow.
What are your marathon aspirations?
Brooke Snow is a Lifestyle photographer in Cache Valley, Utah. The idea of training for anything is quite fascinating for her, as it requires a goal, commitment, and conditioning (a slow process of improvement). Anything of great importance in life requires these same elements. Brooke believes that having visionary goals to work towards are the core of a fulfilling life. She may not be running literal marathons, but treating the small parts of life with the same commitment can result in similar rewards.
Brooke teaches inspiring online photography classes that bring you confidence in your skills and creativity.

The middle picture is just incredible. I hope a huge print of it hangs in his home sometime soon!
I admit, I’m a huge goal-setter … but I also get frustrated with myself every step of the way. I want to do 20 goals and I want to do them tomorrow! None of this step-by-step stuff 😉 Good luck!
Yeah, that whole line upon line thing is over rated 🙂
I did the 1/2 marathon this year to celebrate turning 40. I don’t think I want to do a full marathon but I am now training for a triathlon (just a sprint one to start) but it still counts. June 2012.
You’re amazing Kathleen! Very admirable! And happy 40 🙂
Haha, I’m with you on the biking over running thing. Cycling rules.
I hope to see you at the marathon coming up 🙂
You’ve inspired me to get up a little earlier too.
Oh, I’ll be watching for your Trisha!!
You know you have a good photographer when they make you look this much cooler than you really are, not only in the images, but in print as well. I think the blue one in the middle will definitely be framed! Thanks Brooke!
But Micah… you really are that cool 🙂
