Have you seen Pictory yet?
I discovered Pictory over a year ago, and love it. As one who hopes to tell a story with my images I instantly connected with the concept of this site… PICtures and sTORY. Contributers from anywhere in the world send in an image with a small paragraph accompaning the photograph where it is featured as an online magazine.
There is something so refreshing about these editorial shots. There is a sense of authenticity. Realness. Emotion.
So different from the easily tiresome “eye candy” or “trendy” portrait images. Perfect and lavishly beautiful does not always mean captivating and moving. Probably why I love these so much. They’re not perfect, they’re real, and one can easily relate.
I want to do the same.
