You’re listening to the Brooke Snow Podcast! Conversations to help you live in your true identity as the creator of your life. I’m your host, Brooke Snow. You have Ep. 112: Tiny Tip: How to Be Magical

These tiny tip are designed to give you one small thing you can do to be a better creator in your life. Each tip is inspired by the Law of Creation. Creation includes what we see, say, feel, and do, which leads to who we become. If you want a deep dive into the law of creation, check out my free course at brookesnow.com.

Until recently, I had no idea that Marie Kondo had a T.V. show.

Perhaps you too are a fan of Marie’s bestselling book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up?

Her quirky approach to de-cluttering and tidying up your life and home has resonated deeply with people all across the globe.

When I say quirky, those who have read the book either love it or they are deeply skeptical.

The Kondo Method of tidying up includes holding every item in your hands to see if it “sparks joy”…

If yes, then you keep it.

If no, then you thank it, then let it go with gratitude.

I happen to absolutely love her method and delighted in watching her first episode of Tidying Up.

Oh my goodness!

She is absolutely magical! Like a little fairy of goodness sent straight from heaven! She has much more to teach people than just how to clean up their house.

I admired her gentle compassion for her clients. She doesn’t look on their mess with any ounce of judgement. She loves them and tells them how proud she is of their progress!

I love a good transformation as much as anyone, but truth be told, I was mostly fascinated by her.

What is it about her that makes her so…

well…

good?

Pure good!? The kind of good that feels fittingly, magical?

As I asked myself these questions I instantly knew the answer:

Gratitude.

She practices gratitude like no one I’ve ever seen.

Something doesn’t spark joy? Thank it. Then let it go.

Folding your clothes? Talk to them and let them know how grateful you are to them for serving you!

In episode 1 she very carefully finds a spot on the floor to kneel in silence to thank the house for protecting this family and serving them well. This isn’t done at the end of the process when the house is lighter and cleaner…

No, she thanks the home at the beginning, when it’s still full of clutter, junk and mess! This is significant.

The interesting thing about the emotion of gratitude is we typically experience it as a past tense emotion. We feel grateful after, not before.

As you learn about the Law of Creation, it becomes clear how much power comes in swapping the order. Gratitude can start the process rather than end it. Gratitude can be the cause of creation not just the effect. This is counter intuitive to how most of us live. It feels out of order, yet I’m coming to see it as the true order. Gratitude creates.

Something tells me if I practiced gratitude to the same degree as Marie, I might just turn out to be a little magical too.

Today’s tiny tip? Seek for gratitude at the beginning, not just the end. See if it transforms your experience to be a little more magical.

see it.
say it.
feel it.
do it.
become it.

You are a creator, now go create something great.
