I resurrected THIS GREAT ARTICLE this week from my fabulous friend, Jessica. She has a beautiful way of describing the importance of us photographers making the effort to be in the pictures! Reading this, reminded me of my friend, Rhonda and her goal for 2011 to have a family picture every month of the year (which she pulls of incredibly well with three kids a husband, and a timer).
I opted to go the easier route, and try to do a self portrait every month of the year.
Here’s to February and a world of fresh snow when we were teased with the warmth of spring only days before.
(p.s. My self-portrait trick involves a patient husband who knows how to “put the focus box on your eye, right? and move the meter to zero?” and then hands over the camera every 30 seconds to get a critical review and instant corrective advice. Bless his heart. Bless his heart.)
Are you getting in your pictures?

Perhaps because the system involves simply discarding most mail into the recycle bin. She believes in simplifying life. Even if it means throwing out important paper documents. Out of sight, out of mind. Live a blissful life.

Love the earrings! I’m still too chicken to try a serious self-portrait. One of these days…
Really nice to see your beautiful face on the other side of the camera Brooke.
Love!!!! You are a gorgeous Mama!
Beautiful! Nice work, Benooke (I think that’s how famous people combine their names. It’s real fancy 🙂
Ohh, I like this project!
thank you everyone! It helps to have a nice husband to patiently shoot, and make you laugh at the same time 🙂
Thanks for the comment on my blog 🙂 My kitchen is now my favorite room in the house (and my kids LOVE looking at their faces and memories of Disneyland as we sit at the table for dinner 🙂 For mounting them on the wall I used 3M velcro strips. You can buy them in the hardware section at walmart and they are meant for attaching wall decor and picture frames (they are really strong!) I only used one or two because the pictures are so light and I haven’t had any problems with them at all. I’ll do my diy post next week 🙂
