Ep. 109 Tiny Tip: Vision Journaling

These tiny tip are designed to give you one small thing you can do to be a better creator in your life. Each tip is inspired by the Law of Creation. Creation includes what we see, say, feel, and do, which leads to who we become. If you want a deep dive into the law of creation, check out my free course at brookesnow.com.

In our last episode we asked the question, what is it you hope for in your life? You’d think this would be an easy question to answer, and yet, often times it isn’t. Sometimes we get too preoccupied with what we don’t want or we’ve ignored our desires long enough we don’t know what they are. If you don’t have the words or vision for what you hope for, then you will not be effective in creating it. The Law of Creation requires you see it, and say it.

Hope is a picture in your mind. It’s the spiritual creation of what you want in your life. All things must be created spiritually before they are created physically.

We don’t build a house, until we create it spiritually first. We draw up a blueprint. The more detailed those blueprints, the more successful the build of the house.

Our lives are exactly the same.

So what do you do if you realize your hope is low and your picture is fuzzy?

Happy news! I have a tool to instantly brighten your hope! It’s called “Vision Journaling”. Write a journal entry in present tense of what you hope for as if it has already happened and describe it in detail.

I used this when we were trying to sell our house, when my husband was looking for a job, I’ve used for improving relationships and day to day parenting moments. There’s nothing too big or too small.

A few years ago I used vision journaling to give me hope for the worst time of day. Homework time after school. This dreaded time was always contentious and frustrating. I needed more hope. What did I want this time to look like instead?

I wrote a journal entry and titled it “Happy Homework Time!” describing what I hoped for in present tense…

“I am so grateful homework time is happy time. I’ve found preparing the environment helps so much. I make Buddy a snack while he starts his work and I give him lots of praise for his cooperation. I turn on calming music, diffuse some oils and am always willing to answer his questions. I am present and unplugged and use the time to prep dinner while also being available for questions. Double win. I’m so grateful this time is calm and happy.”

Because it’s in the present tense, it feels as if I have already experienced it. It changes how I feel, because I changed what I see and say.

So did it work?

Holy smokes yes! Funny how much of the dread of homework time had to do with ME!

This tool never ceases to amaze me. There is power in creating things spiritually first.

If your hope is low take five minutes to do a Vision journal entry. I promise you’ll experience a shift in how you feel.

See it.
Say it.
Feel it.
Do it.
Become it.

You are a creator, now go create something great.
