What Other People Think: Reclaiming Your Voice in a World of Conditional Love
In this note, I’m diving into one of the most challenging parts of being a modern human: how much we care about what other people think.
We’ve all heard the advice, “It doesn’t matter what others think,” and maybe you’ve even said it yourself—to your children, your friends, or your own reflection in the mirror. But it’s one thing to say it. It’s another thing entirely to convince your body it’s true.
Often, the fear of others’ opinions keeps us from making changes, speaking up, or pursuing what we know deep down we’re meant to do. We stay silent. We delay dreams. We sacrifice authenticity. Why? Because we’re afraid. We fear rejection. And love and acceptance in our tribe is one of the most powerful primitive drives we have.
But if we consistently abandon our inner wisdom for external validation, the long-term effects are far more damaging than the temporary discomfort of disappointing others.
So in this episode, I’m sharing my journey of learning to care less about what other people think—and how this shift has helped me trust myself more deeply.
