The secret to exercise!

Well, my secret to exercise at least, is to find something that YOU PERSONALLY love to do!  I found my exercise passion years ago in the form of a bicycle.  I can’t even describe what biking does for me!  The world could be coming to an end, I could have all the elements combining against me, my heart could be sad and troubled, and it all changes the moment I get on a bike. It’s magically altered my world and perspective enough times that I no longer doubt the power it holds for me!

Currently, I have the necessary two bikes (a mountain bike and a road bike), and would love to have more!  Both treasured possessions.  I’d give up my car before my bike!  Thousands of miles have passed biking with some of my most inspirational moments on long rides where I get to just enjoy God’s creations and have my mind think openly and freely about anything and everything.

One of my saddest memories was 2 years ago when I left my apartment complex to ride to school and found my bike lock hack sawed and hanging limply on the iron fence with no bike in its grip.  I cried.  I cried so hard that I called my mother (who wasn’t home but I got the answering machine) and sobbed for a good 30 seconds on the recording before being able to let the words tumble out that my bike had been STOLEN!  (She was a little upset about that message, thinking something more tragic had actually happened, but later softened since she understands my same affection 😉 )

And with that completely passionate intro, you’re fully prepped to know how sincerely excited I was to create and design a photo shoot featuring REAL DEAL cyclists!  When I say they are the “real deal”, mark my words!  Jared has already completed LOTOJA–which I likely would never be able to do in a million years despite how much I love my bike! Both Ben and I love the Moon family for many reasons, but they too share our love for the sport which makes them all the more endearing!   Their little guy is already prepped for a cyclist life.  Just how I hope our little boy will be!  (It’s probably a rare mom who is more concerned about finding a bike trailer for her new baby than having an elaborate nursery or even basic baby necessities!  That would be me!)

Someday I want bike pictures…. preferably with the baby trailer and when I miraculously look this good in spandex!

  1. You should really check out Trek’s GoBug Trailer. I’m not an avid cyclist, but I do like taking family bike rides around the neighborhood. I bought my GoBug when Tyson was only a few months old and have totally loved it. I do have the one that comes with a stroller wheel, so I’ve used it that way too. Tyson is 2.5 years now and I’m already being sad about him out-growing it and wanting to ride on his own. (Only because I love the trailer that much.) Good luck, and great pictures, as usual.

  2. What a fun shoot! I love that they wanted their family pictures done with something they love doing as a family. Great job! They turned out awesome!

  3. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. seriously! Love the one with the couple sitting and the kiddo standing and bikes behind them. Awesome. (and i didn’t know this about you and that’s neat that you love to ride so much!)

  4. Brooke!

Hey this is Camille your old New Horizon’s buddy! I actually danced with Kelly growing up! You did such a good job of taking her family photos! 🙂 It is so fun to look at your sight and see how awesome you are! Do you live in Logan? Congratulations on having a baby too! I would love to catch up with you, email me if you get a spare minute!
