What if everyone could be photogenic? Exciting news below!

I’ve been waiting to write this post for five months!

Last fall, I was approached by photographer, Jesh De Rox, about consulting him in the content design of an entire online course that teaches the Beloved genre of photography.

And now its done! And available! RIGHT NOW! This week!

Its been quite the adventure to see things unfold the last several months and I’m thrilled with the final product.  The course(s) are designed similar to my own–with pre-recorded video lessons and live footage of real photo sessions to demonstrate the content. This makes the course easily assessable for any time zone or schedule.

As if I wasn’t already converted to the Beloved genre, being a part of the creation of the course and watching the evolution of what it has become, I’m even more passionately convinced that this approach has the ability to change lives and make a difference in the world and now everyone can learn how to make it happen with the accompaniment of this incredible online course!

Beloved was originally conceived as a wonderful approach to photographing couples, but it has quickly spread into an incredible tool to use with families and children.  The Beloved Family Field Guide is also being released this week, making this entire approach now easily integrated for family photography sessions.

If Beloved is a new word for you, here is a brief explanation of what Beloved is, in Jesh’s words:

“Beloved is an emerging photographic genre centered on the creation of meaning-rich portraits that express the individual, beautiful personality each person is born with, creating an opportunity to celebrate the relationships that fill our lives with joy and purpose.

The Photogenic Technique of Beloved gives photographers a clear and simple way to move past the “camera smile”‘ to easily capture the authentic, photogenic expressions and the naturally beautiful sides of our personality we share with our loved ones.”

Imagine what life would be like if every person you photographed was photogenic. If each session wasn’t just about getting your picture taken, but it was an enriching and joyful experience where relationships are strengthened. Where fun, laughter, and play is a natural and free flowing experience. Where the images you capture are beautifully authentic and clients are drawn to you not just because of your images but because of how you helped them feel during the experience?

Beloved is the final missing piece to the puzzle.

Right now, the online course comes with the purchase of any of the Beloved Field Guides!

  1. Brooke! Will you be one of the teachers offering feedback as part of the premium course? I’m still a little unclear on the difference between the self-study and the premium but would love to know if you’ll be involved!

    1. Hi Sara! Thank you for your enthusiasm! Yes, I am a mentor that is part of the premium course 🙂 The details of the premium version are still in the works, but more details will come soon! Thank you for your support of the Beloved movement!

    1. Hi Jennifer! Yes, this is a self study course that you can take at your own pace. There is a time limitation on how long you have access to the course once you sign up, but you’d easily be able to complete it in the allowed time frame. You would love it!

  2. What AMAZING news Brooke. So excited for you and where this Beloved movement is taking you. And truly awesome that there is now a children and families guide. This is definitely a much needed addition to the Beloved Collective. Congrats on having such an integral part in it coming to life! 🙂

  3. You did it!! Holy cow, girl, it looks so beautiful! I love it. Love it, love it, love it! Congratulations! (Does this mean that we get to talk soon 😉 ?

    1. Oh Golly, my dear! I hope so! Remember how you were supposed to be my reward for finishing?!?!?! Yes, we must chat VERY SOON!

  4. How exciting. How long will the course be available with the purchase of a field guide. I have been so interested in this but I haven’t had much experience with couples, so am thrilled that there is a field guide catered to families and children. And I am sure will be useful for seniors, which I do more of.

    1. Hi Susan! I’m not sure how long the promotion will last. The Family Field Guide is just delightful, and if that is who you photograph, its an incredible resource!

  5. I have been waiting for this post! I am so excited that there will be resources available–now I just need the time and money to focus. 🙂 Congratulations–this is very exciting!!

    1. Elizabeth, the self study and premium are the same in terms of class content. The premium includes assignments and a mentor as well as Level One Certification for being a Beloved Photographer.

    1. Hi Kate!

If you are referring to me accepting clients for Beloved sessions, then yes 🙂 Though I’m sort of on the DL about it 🙂 Let me know if you’d like more info 🙂 Its a fabulous experience!

  6. Hi Brooke!
For the premium version, are the class dates “set” like yours, or do you start at your own choosing? Very exciting.

    1. Hi Kim! As far as I know the premium version does not have set dates. Its not quite like the way I operate my classes. Its a little bit looser structure. We’re still working out the exact details 🙂

  7. Brooke! so excited about this.I was waiting to purchase till I heard from you and it looks like a go now, so I will be on board as soon as I get a few questions answered about the difference between the premium and the self study. Also is the field guide just posing ideas or is there more to it? So glad you are involved you do an awesome job on your classes. Good luck and thanks.

    1. Hi Michelle!

Yes! This is exciting! In answer to your questions, the field guide is not posing ideas at all 🙂 Its interactive ideas that invite photogenic expression. You’ll find some delightful questions, games, and other types of imagery to use with your subjects that works wonders with pulling out sincere authentic smiles, laughter, and expression. The images you see on the cards are just examples of “expression” that have been captured through this technique.

More info should be available soon on the site about the difference between the premium and self study courses. You can always upgrade later, so I recommend at least starting the self study 🙂

Hope that helps! This is an exciting venture!

      Delightfully,

      brooke
