After my first two experiences shooting in the Beloved style, I noticed that I kept leaving each session with two profound feelings:
1. Humble gratitude. The experience is just so neat. There really aren’t words to describe how cool it is.
2. Longing. Because it is such a neat experience I longed to be able to share something similar with my own spouse…
But what do you do when you don’t know of a single other Beloved photographer for hundreds of miles? Well, I opted for the fabulous idea of “trade” 🙂
If I could shoot another photographer for a Beloved session, perhaps they could understand the concept enough to do it for me! The ever so fabulous Kristin Brown was a perfect choice, not only because I think she’s an awesome photographer, but I knew she was a Jesh De Rox fan and familiar to a degree with some of these concepts. As is very typical of male subjects and husbands in general… Kenny really hates portrait sessions. I promised him up and down that this would be totally different, and I think one of the happiest moments for me was when Kenny declared out-loud with gusto,
“This is the best photo session EVER!!”
I’m telling you all… Beloved is different. Its amazing. And GUYS LOVE IT.
