What happens when Buzzy is unsupervised?

The best part of my sabbatical is actually finding joy (and energy) in photographing my own family again 🙂

Never forget why you got into photography in the first place.

There’s something endearing about the imperfections…

my bathroom is…umm…well, its seen cleaner days, and my kid looks completely dischevelled.

But that’s life.

Its my life.

And I love it.

Here’s a little “behind the scenes” action video.  Enjoy!

Buzzy is fascinated with his reflection. That boy in the mirror is one of his favorite pals.

  1. I love this!!! I seriously laughed out loud when he said/signed “all done,” then said “more!” So great! And I love the pictures where you can see the reflection of his face in the mirror. So cute! Nice work Brooke!

    1. Hey Jenny! I have a video mode on my slr… So I’d shoot video for a few minutes, then switch it back to regular still shots for a few minutes. If he was doing something particularly cute, I’d switch quickly to the still shots to get the shot I wanted and then hop back into video. I honestly don’t use the video very much, but putting a little story together like this was so fun, that I’ll probably start doing it a lot more. I have no video of me growing up as a kid. We never had a video camera (my parents still don’t have one)… and there really is something delightful about seeing movement and hearing voices that comes with video. Its a whole new ball game. Similar to photography in many ways, but also totally different…

  2. I LOVE that video. It makes me want to record my kids more often. (And switching back and forth is such a great idea…I don’t do that enough). Thanks for sharing the laugh 🙂
