Photo Basics Class
**Pre-requisite: A digital SLR is helpful, but you must have a camera that allows you to change shutter and aperture manually.
This four week photography course is a fantastic and affordable way to improve your photography skill without the cost or time involved in a college course. What better way to learn the functions of photography in a way that is completely catered to your individual artistic goals? Whether you want to photograph landscapes, architecture, portraits, start or improve a business, or just take better pictures of your family, this course will help you gain the skills necessary to take control over your camera.
We will cover the following topics: Shooting in manual, exposure, the proper function and relationship between shutter speed-aperture-ISO, using natural light, art and composition.
FAQs
Q: Is this class too basic for me?
A: Do you currently spend most of your time shooting in automatic or program modes? Are you frustrated when your camera doesnt do what you hope it will shooting in automatic? Do you ever rely on photo editing to fix your photos rather than increasing your skill to improve your work? Do you want to learn how to achieve creative effects in your work with depth of field or motion? Do you want to fully understand the working relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO and what each of their functions are? Do you want to learn how to frame things and create a good picture? Do you want to learn how to use natural light to your benefit? Do you want to become confident in shooting in any situation? This class is for you!
Q: Can I pay per class instead?
A: Unfortunately, I do not offer a pay/per class option. The class fee is a monthly tuition that grants access to any of the classes. I post notes and power point visuals for each class on the class website, so everyone is able to take advantage of all the classes even if they have to miss one.
*Homework is given each week to help you apply what youve learned, and feedback on your work is given at each successive class as well. You can apply your assignments to whatever style or photographic interest you have.
